Behavioral Treatment for alcohol Dependence

Abstract
There are many approaches to the treatment of alcohol dependence, But recently behavioral therapy has been re-emphasized for the treatment of alcohol dependence since the development of cue exposure treatment.
The author reviewed the behavior theories and the behavioral therapies for alcohol dependence which are based on their theories.
The behavioral therapies for alcohol dependence are as below.
1. behavioral therapies based on operant conditioning theory.
(1) operant extinction
(2) coningency management.
(3) changing the discriminative stimuli
2. behavioral therapies based on classical conditioning theory
(1) counter-conditioning
(2) classical extinciton
(cue exposure treatment)
Among these treatments, cue exposure treatment it a new hopeful approach to alcohol dependence.
